Director of Development Impact – Real Sector Operations

About the role

IDB Invest, the private‑sector arm of the IDB Group, is seeking a Director of Development Impact for Real Sector Operations. The role reports to the Managing Director of the Development Effectiveness Office (DVF) and supports the corporate and infrastructure segments across the organization’s 26‑country footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the application of the IDB Invest development effectiveness framework throughout project lifecycles (origination, preparation, implementation, evaluation).
• Manage and review the suite of development effectiveness tools, including the Impact Rating System (DELTA), Annual Supervision Report (ASR), Expanded Supervision Reports (XSRs), and sector‑specific impact models.
• Coordinate ex‑post and impact evaluations, ensuring compliance with evaluation standards and timely, transparent reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop operational recommendations based on impact evaluations, data analytics, and knowledge production.
• Collaborate with other multilateral development banks on development effectiveness initiatives.
• Provide technical assistance and training on impact management to IDB Invest teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in development impact management within a financial institution or development bank.
• Strong understanding of impact evaluation methodologies and development effectiveness frameworks.
• Experience handling complex reporting processes and producing analytical recommendations.
• Ability to work across multiple country offices and coordinate with external partners.
