Loan Underwriter – Data Processing & Customer Service

About the role

The Loan Underwriter works in partnership with other employees, departments, and external partners to deliver accurate, efficient, and effective information and services. This full‑time position is based in a contact centre in Belize City and is responsible for data entry, processing, and the preliminary steps in setting up a customer’s account while supporting Customer Service Representatives as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Process and enter data, post non‑cash payments, reimbursements, voids and rebates.
• Adjudicate new and returning loan applications and determine loan offers for first‑time and returning customers.
• Handle exceptions, conduct due diligence, and perform call audits.
• Support the Credit department, make recommendations for improvements, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting (Honour Roll) or a professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in customer service and data processing.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple priorities.
• Self‑motivated, disciplined, team‑oriented, flexible, honest and trustworthy.

Required skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Strong telephone and listening skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle confidential information with sound judgment.
