Spanish Interpreter (Remote)

About the role

Propio Language Services is seeking remote Spanish contract interpreters for its OnDemand service. The role involves providing high‑quality consecutive interpretation for a variety of client sectors, including medical, legal and social services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consecutive, first‑person interpretation for Spanish‑speaking clients.
• Follow Propio interpreter protocols, confidentiality policies and ethical standards.
• Continuously improve vocabulary and specialized subject‑matter knowledge as required.
• Adhere to HIPAA and other relevant compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Submit an updated resume in English.
• Demonstrate English language proficiency at a technical level (ILR 3 or higher).
• Pass a mock oral interpretation session evaluated against 24 quality standards.
• Complete Propio’s online Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology assessment with a passing score.
• Pass a full background check and security screen.
• Sign a confidentiality, ethics and HIPAA compliance commitment.

Required skills

• Fluent Spanish language proficiency.
• Technical proficiency in English (ILR level 3+).
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
