About the role

The Inter‑American Development Bank (Grupo BID) seeks a dynamic consultant to provide strategic, technical and operational support to project teams. The role focuses on improving the quality of design, execution and closure of operations, aligning them with the Bank’s development effectiveness frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Review and strengthen project documents, including Project Design Documents (PDDs) and technical cooperation agreements.
• Enhance theories of change, results matrices and indicators to ensure logical intervention design and result measurement.
• Support the evaluability of operations and their alignment with institutional effectiveness standards.
• Participate in quality review and corporate approval processes, including SPD and OVE reviews.
• Provide technical assistance to project teams throughout design, review and approval stages.
• Assist in monitoring ongoing operations, preparing and reviewing Progress Monitoring Reports (PMRs).
• Identify risks, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, proposing adjustments to boost performance and results.
• Contribute to the preparation and review of Project Completion Reports (PCRs) and result analysis.
• Systematize evidence, results and lessons learned to strengthen knowledge management.
• Facilitate coordination between operational teams and corporate units and support strategic division initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in economics, public policy, statistics or related fields.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in projects funded by multilateral organizations or the public sector.
• Fluent in Spanish and English (both written and spoken); additional knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus.
• Citizenship of one of the Bank’s 48 member countries and eligibility to work for the institution.
