Director of Finance and Administration

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking a Director of Finance and Administration to lead the financial, administrative and human‑resource functions of the MCC Belize Education Project. Based in Belize, the role will ensure effective use of the $125 million Compact funds and support the delivery of technical and vocational education and training improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership over all financial, contractual and administrative aspects of the project.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve internal financial and organizational processes.
• Ensure compliance with U.S., Belizean and donor regulations, policies and reporting requirements.
• Oversee budgeting, grant management, operational planning, procurement, logistics and contract administration.
• Manage resource utilization in line with FHI 360 and donor policies.
• Supervise recruitment, hiring and performance management of finance, operations and local consultant teams.
• Collaborate with country, regional and headquarters staff to align project implementation with best practices and regulatory frameworks.
• Support timely and accurate financial and programmatic reporting.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (preferred) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Extensive experience managing finance, grants and contracts for large, donor‑funded projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in an international development context.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and local (Belize) financial regulations and donor compliance requirements.
• Proven track record of effective resource planning, budgeting and financial reporting.
