Heavy Duty Mechanic

About the role

The Heavy Duty Mechanic will support the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and facilities on Harvest Caye, Belize. Working under the direction of the Technical Facility Manager, you will ensure that all mechanical systems operate safely and efficiently to support the island’s guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in repairs as directed by the Technical Facility Manager.
• Report unresolved issues promptly for additional assistance.
• Maintain a clean, organized workshop and keep tools properly stored.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices as needed.
• Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers.
• Collaborate with island staff and technical team members to resolve issues quickly and professionally.

Required profile

• Ability to follow instructions from the Technical Facility Manager.
• Strong attention to safety regulations and clean work environments.
• Good teamwork and communication skills with other island staff.
