Senior Full Stack Engineer (Node/React) – Remote

About the role

Kake is a remote‑first community of senior engineers building high‑performance, scalable products for Fortune‑500 and fast‑growing companies. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer you will own end‑to‑end feature development across Node.js back‑ends and React front‑ends, collaborating closely with product and design.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship production features end‑to‑end across Node.js back‑ends and React front‑ends, from implementation through deployment.
• Design, build, and version REST or GraphQL APIs that serve as contracts between front‑end and back‑end systems.
• Make architecture decisions around data modelling, service boundaries, and component design, applying event‑driven thinking where appropriate.
• Model and query data across relational and NoSQL stores, selecting the appropriate database for each use case.
• Write clean, well‑tested code and set up observability to monitor and debug live systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands‑on Node.js and React.
• Proven experience designing and versioning REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with modern Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong system‑design instincts, including data modelling and event‑driven architecture.
• Comfortable with relational databases and SQL, and experienced with NoSQL solutions like MongoDB.
• Excellent problem‑solving, debugging, and communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.
