Teacher Policy Lead

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking a Teacher Policy Lead to provide overall technical direction and stakeholder support for teacher policy and workforce reform as part of a MCC‑funded education quality assurance activity in Belize. The role will be based in Belize and is contingent on award of the project.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical implementation of teacher and school‑leader policy reforms.
• Support development and revision of licensing, certification, and competency frameworks for teachers, school leaders, and counselors.
• Design career pathways, promotion systems, and performance‑based incentive structures.
• Revise appraisal systems and establish dual‑subject certification processes for secondary teachers.
• Provide technical leadership for educator standards development and accountability systems.
• Coordinate workforce planning, governance, and alignment with broader education quality assurance initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in teacher policy development or education workforce reform.
• Strong understanding of licensing, certification, and performance management in education.
• Ability to lead technical policy work and engage multiple stakeholders.
• Familiarity with education quality assurance systems and data management.
