Head Chef – Luxury Resort

About the role

The Head Chef will lead all culinary operations at Prana Maya Island Resort, a luxury destination in Stann Creek, Belize. Reporting to resort management and collaborating with the Catering Consultant, you will create and execute hyper‑local, fine‑dining menus that showcase Belizean and Caribbean flavors while maintaining the resort’s high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily food preparation, plating, and service across all meal periods and special events.
• Develop and refine menus in partnership with the Catering Consultant, focusing on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.
• Manage kitchen staff scheduling, training, performance reviews, and foster an inclusive team culture.
• Control inventory, place orders, and monitor food costs to ensure profitable operations.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment that complies with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in luxury resorts, boutique hotels, or fine‑dining establishments.
• Strong leadership abilities with a track record of staff supervision, training, and team building.
• Deep knowledge of Belizean and Caribbean ingredients and the ability to design hyper‑local menus.
• Flexibility to work on‑site, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
