Maintenance Assistant

About the role

The Maintenance Assistant will support the operation of a Port Liquid Terminal in Belize, ensuring mechanical and electrical systems run reliably. This role involves routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response to keep the terminal operating efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Support maintenance activities for mechanical and electrical systems within the terminal.
• Perform maintenance and repair on PLCs, relays, motors, AC systems, and switchgears.
• Conduct routine inspections and assist during shutdowns and plant turnarounds.
• Troubleshoot equipment and control circuits, implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental procedures.
• Use CMMS to plan, schedule, and manage work orders.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Keep the work environment clean, safe, and organized.
• Respond to emergency call‑outs outside normal working hours when required.
• Support the supervisor with task allocation, reporting, and coordination.

Required profile

• Diploma in Industrial Electrical Technology or completion of tertiary education (6th Form).
• Minimum five years of experience in industrial electrical/electronic maintenance and repair.
• Basic knowledge of industrial systems and maintenance practices.

Required skills

• Experience with PLCs, relays, motors, AC systems, and switchgears.
• Proficiency in using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel).
