ArcGIS Data Center Leader

About the role

Belize Sugar Industries is hiring an ArcGIS Data Center Leader at Tower Hill, Orange Walk. The role leads the development, governance, maintenance and continuous improvement of BSI’s ArcGIS and agricultural data environment, ensuring geospatial, grower, land, cadastral and agronomic information is accurate, integrated, accessible, secure and actionable. Through reliable mapping, spatial analysis, dashboards, reporting and data governance, it supports agricultural planning, field execution, grower service, land administration and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and administer a centralized ArcGIS‑based geospatial information system for agricultural operations, land administration and business decision‑making.
• Develop, maintain and enhance geospatial databases, map layers, dashboards, standard reports and analytical tools that consolidate internal and external data sources.
• Integrate and manage data from grower records, land files, field surveys, productivity, weather, agronomic references and cadastral information to improve visibility and consistency.
• Establish, document and enforce data‑governance standards, including quality controls, validation protocols, update cycles, access controls, naming conventions, metadata and retention practices.
• Produce accurate maps, spatial analyses, dashboards and periodic reports to support crop planning, field planning, grower support, land‑use analysis and productivity monitoring.
• Partner with the Director of Farming Operations and cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business priorities into practical geospatial solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Agricultural Engineering, Geographical Data Management, Data Science, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in GIS, geospatial analysis, database administration, agricultural information systems or land information systems.
• Hands‑on experience with ArcGIS or equivalent platforms for mapping, spatial analysis, geodatabase design, dashboards and reporting.
• Strong understanding of data integration, data quality management, structured geodatabase design, metadata management and data‑governance practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to present technical information to non‑technical audiences.
• Excellent analytical, diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities, high attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
