About the role

The Carbon Strategy and Markets Lead for the Latin America Region provides region‑wide strategic leadership for carbon markets and carbon finance, integrating The Nature Conservancy’s global carbon strategy into actionable regional guidance. This senior individual contributor role works across Business Units, Iconic Places and global teams to accelerate high‑integrity Natural Climate Solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and advance long‑term regional strategies for carbon markets and carbon finance aligned with conservation priorities.
• Serve as the primary point of coordination for carbon markets across the region, influencing Business Units, priority geographies and global teams.
• Provide technical and strategic guidance to translate ecological foundations into scalable carbon finance pathways.
• Accelerate the development of investable, high‑integrity carbon initiatives and align them with TNC’s global carbon markets strategy.
• Support fundraising, strategic communications and partnership development with external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with deep expertise in carbon markets and Natural Climate Solutions.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and coordinate across multiple business units.
• Strong strategic thinking, technical credibility and influence in climate finance.
• Experience working with policymakers, investors and conservation partners in Latin America.
