Lagoon Rental Staff – Guest Safety & Activities

About the role

The Lagoon Rental Staff member ensures the safety of guests using the Manatee Lagoon and Nature Trail on Harvest Caye while promoting and selling island activities. This role combines guest service, equipment maintenance, and emergency response in a vibrant resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safety of the lagoon and nature trail, recognizing and calmly responding to emergencies.
• Operate communication tools such as VHF radios, whistles and flags.
• Provide excellent guest service, answering questions and promoting island excursions.
• Repair and maintain rental equipment including kayaks, paddleboards, electric boats, wave‑runner dock and pedal boards.
• Conduct daily island upkeep, perform inventories and clean/disinfect equipment.
• Participate in regular trainings, drills and enforce all aquatic and island policies.
• Secure equipment during inclement weather and represent the company professionally.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in resort hospitality or a similar field.
• Ability to swim and respond to in‑water emergencies.
• Current First Aid & CPR certification (e.g., PADI Emergency First Responder).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proactive team player with strong sales ability and professional appearance.
• Willingness to work 7 days a week in outdoor conditions, including sun, heat, cold and uneven surfaces.
