Lifeguard – Beach & Pool Safety

About the role

The Lifeguard ensures the safety of guests on Harvest Caye’s beach and pool areas while also promoting island activities and assisting with clerical tasks as needed. This position supports a high volume of cruise guests, up to 4,000 per day, in a dynamic, outdoor environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain beach and pool safety, respond calmly to emergencies, and operate rescue equipment such as jet‑ski, surfboard, and kayak.
• Promote and sell island excursions, answer guest questions, and coordinate tour dispatches.
• Repair and maintain beach/pool equipment, conduct inventories, and clean snorkeling gear.
• Participate in daily island upkeep, trainings, drills, and enforce safety policies.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of resort hospitality or similar experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent, Lifeguard certification, and valid First Aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to work 7 days a week, in multicultural teams, and adapt to changing schedules.
• Professional appearance, strong customer‑service orientation, and physical ability to swim and lift over 25 lb.
