Physical Therapist Volunteer

About the role

The Rehabilitation Volunteer works full‑time under the direction of the Rehabilitation Director at Hillside Clinic. This role provides community‑based physical therapy services, supervises student clinicians, and collaborates with local organizations to raise disability awareness across Belize.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, accurate outpatient, home‑health, and mobile clinic physical therapy services.
• Coordinate with the Belize Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Supervise and mentor international PT students, precept short‑term staff, and evaluate student performance.
• Maintain rehabilitation inventory and support clinical decision‑making for the rehab team.
• Participate in interdisciplinary curriculum development and deliver related lectures.

Required profile

• Licensed Physical Therapist with experience in community‑based rehabilitation.
• Ability to travel to remote villages and provide home‑based care.
• Experience supervising and teaching PT students or junior staff.
