Senior Compliance Officer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Officer to join our Compliance Department. The role supports both internal compliance functions and the delivery of external AML compliance services, including client due diligence, policy development, and advisory support.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct due‑diligence, screening and verification procedures for clients and entities.
• Review corporate structures and ownership information to identify beneficial owners.
• Prepare client risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
• Maintain accurate client and compliance records.
• Assist in developing and enhancing compliance policies and procedures.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on clients and the organization.
• Prepare compliance reports, risk assessments and supporting documentation.
• Support compliance reviews, audits and regulatory examinations.
• Assist with compliance training and staff awareness initiatives.
• Liaise with clients, regulators and other stakeholders on compliance matters.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of AML/CFT compliance experience, preferably in financial services, corporate services or a regulated industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business, accounting or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ACAMS/CAMS is an asset.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.

Required skills

• AML/CFT/CPF regulatory knowledge (MLTPA, Belize Companies Act, FSC guidance).
• Client due‑diligence and KYC processes.
• Risk assessment methodologies.
