Accounting Assistant

About the role

Benny's is hiring an Accounting Assistant to join its finance team in Belize City. The role focuses on accounts payable and purchasing records, vendor payments, inventory and fleet reporting, and keeping documentation across departments accurate and timely.

Key responsibilities

• Track vendor payments and expenditures, purchase orders, invoices and statements, with a solid grasp of accounts payable and purchasing requirements
• Track credit memos due and ensure they are received and entered for future payments
• Manage supplies and fuel movement for all company departments
• Enter data in the accounting program and build inventory and fleet log reports on time
• Update and maintain the vendor database
• Liaise with departments and warehouses to collect data and track the movement of goods
• Handle manufacturing reporting and the management of raw material movement
• Help monitor the integrity and efficiency of departmental documentation
• Strengthen relationships with vendors and suppliers through timely payment and help streamline the accounts payable process
• Follow all accounting and finance policies, procedures and standards

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and execute them efficiently
• Honest, trustworthy, organized, mature, responsible and flexible, with high moral ethics and a professional demeanor
• Team player
• Preferred: bilingualism and an associate's degree
