Clerk of Works – Site Representative

About the role

We are looking for a Clerk of Works to act as the principal day‑to‑day representative on construction sites, reporting to the Project Manager/Contract Administrator. The role ensures that the contractor’s work complies with the contract documents and maintains comprehensive site records.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a regular presence on the construction site during normal working periods.
• Monitor the contractor’s work for compliance with contract documents, workmanship, materials and procedures.
• Prepare daily site records, photographic progress reports and record significant site activities, personnel, equipment and weather conditions.
• Track construction progress against the approved programme and monitor delivery and use of key materials.
• Observe contractor testing, record test results and monitor work prior to covering.
• Notify the Project Manager and specialist consultants when inspection hold points are approaching.
• Identify and report defects or non‑conforming work to VIVIDARCH.
• Assist with measurement, verification of completed works for payment, and maintain records of variations.
• Participate in progress meetings, prepare progress reports and support completion and defects inspections.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction site supervision or quality monitoring.
• Strong understanding of contract documents and construction procedures.
• Ability to produce accurate daily records and photographic documentation.
• Good organisational skills to track progress, materials and variations.
• Effective communication with project managers, consultants and contractors.
