About the role
The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will support the Chief of Party in leading the MCC Belize Training and Transitioning to Work Activity. Based in Belize, the DCOP will oversee the technical workstreams that aim to improve the quality, equity, relevance, and efficiency of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate closely with the Chief of Party on all technical matters and provide leadership support for project budgeting and oversight.
- Lead the design, implementation, and quality assurance of TVET interventions, ensuring they are evidence‑based and aligned with the Ministry of Education.
- Supervise a multidisciplinary technical team and manage relationships with national stakeholders, beneficiaries, and the donor.
- Develop and implement reforms in TVET governance, national policy, training agency strengthening, sector skills councils, work‑based learning systems, and curriculum modernization.
- Monitor and evaluate project activities to track progress toward improving TVET outcomes.
Required profile
- Proven ability to work in complex, multicultural environments.
- Experience managing diverse technical teams and delivering impact in large‑scale development projects.
- Strong understanding of TVET systems, governance reform, and evidence‑based program design.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
