Deputy Chief of Party – TVET Project (Belize)

About the role

The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will support the Chief of Party in leading the MCC Belize Training and Transitioning to Work Activity. Based in Belize, the DCOP will help improve governance, financing and quality assurance of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate closely with the Chief of Party on all technical matters and support project leadership and budget oversight.
• Lead design, implementation and quality assurance of evidence‑based TVET interventions aligned with the Ministry of Education and labor market needs.
• Supervise a technical team, liaise with national stakeholders, beneficiaries and the donor.
• Develop and monitor reforms in TVET governance, national policy implementation, training agency strengthening, sector skills councils, work‑based learning systems and curriculum modernization.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting of project outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven ability to work in complex, multicultural environments.
• Experience managing diverse technical teams and delivering impact in education or development projects.
• Strong understanding of TVET systems, governance reforms and labor market alignment.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with government, donors and partners.
