General Manager – The Placencia Resort, Belize

About the role

The General Manager will lead The Placencia Resort through a full renovation and transition to Remington Hospitality management while maintaining guest experience and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Executive Committee and develop local talent across all departments.
• Implement Remington systems, SOPs, and internal controls during the transition.
• Oversee renovation phasing to protect guest experience, safety, and revenue.
• Manage financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Belize labour, health, safety, and licensing regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of senior hotel leadership experience, preferably in resort openings, transitions, or renovations.
• Proven ability to build structure, processes, staffing, and operational systems.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to lead through change.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office suite.
• Property management system implementation.
• Point‑of‑sale and accounting software proficiency.
