Senior Rust Engineer – Remote

About the role

Kake is a remote‑first community of senior engineers building high‑performance, memory‑safe backend services. As a Senior Rust Engineer you will own complex technical challenges from design to production, driving best practices across mission‑critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, memory‑safe backend services and distributed systems using Rust.
• Write high‑performance, concurrent code and maintain asynchronous services with Tokio and async/await patterns.
• Guide architectural decisions, mentor team members, and elevate engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, contributing to tooling and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain modern Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines for reliable delivery.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands‑on Rust development.
• Deep understanding of Rust ownership, borrow checker, lifetimes, traits, and macros.
• Proven experience in systems programming, multithreading, and performance‑critical applications.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with excellent English communication.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.
