Hostess/Host

About the role

The Hostess/Host will be the first point of contact for guests at the island’s restaurants, ensuring a warm welcome and smooth seating experience. This role supports the dining team by managing reservations, guiding guests, and maintaining a pleasant atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, take and confirm reservations, and guide them to their tables.
• Communicate wait times, adjust floor plans for special groups, and assist wait staff with clearing tables and setting up for the next seating.
• Maintain the host stand, keep supplies stocked, and perform opening, running, and closing duties.
• Address guest concerns, notify management when needed, and ensure a harassment‑free environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer‑service experience in a restaurant setting.
• Physically fit, able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
• Positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and ability to work flexible hours including peaks, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required skills

• Food handlers’ certificate.
• Ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, and adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
