Store Clerk Lead

About the role

This role supports the store’s mission by fostering a respectful environment and helping customers make informed product decisions. As a Lead level clerk, you will work with minimal supervision, either supporting a supervisor in a store with at least three full‑time employees or acting as the operational leader when no on‑site supervisor is present.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily store operations, assign tasks, and provide training and coaching to staff.
• Prepare weekly schedules, manage point‑of‑sale terminals, process sales and returns, and oversee register opening/closing.
• Maintain attractive store presentation, ensure adequate inventory on the floor, and support receiving, counting, and replenishment activities.
• Respond to customer inquiries about products, fitting, and curriculum, providing high‑quality service and personal fitting consultations when needed.
• Monitor key performance indicators such as inventory, expense, and sales goals, and step in as backup supervisor during absences.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in business, retailing, merchandising or related field.
• At least two years of experience in retail or customer‑service roles, including team management.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including Saturdays and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Word.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and basic technical troubleshooting.
